The OMG Student Exchange Program is an initiative of 14 universities in Ontario, Canada and 11 institutions in Maharashtra and Goa, India, supported by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities of the Government of Ontario.

The OMG Student Exchange Program was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), Government of Ontario, as an initiative for the development of postsecondary educational linkages between Ontario and the Indian states of Maharashtra and Goa with the aim of promoting the reciprocal flow of knowledge.

The OMG program is designed for student exchanges at all levels, at Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral, in all disciplines and subjects studies at Ontario universities.  However, each university may decide to restrict high-demand programs.    

Maharashtra is the third largest state In India, with Mumbai (Bombay) as the seat of the government. There are a number of educational and research institutions of world repute in this state. Goa, with significant antecedents of Portuguese culture, is an influential center of arts, music, dance and cuisine.
